Reduce Dust. Extend Cleaning Intervals. Protect Your Panels.
PlasmaBerry's Anti-Dust Shield is a professional hydrophobic surface treatment applied to solar module glass — reducing dust adhesion, repelling water and extending the time between cleaning cycles.
What Is Anti-Dust Shield?
Anti-Dust Shield (ADS) is a nano-coating treatment applied to the glass surface of solar modules. It creates a hydrophobic layer that causes water and dust particles to bead up and roll off the panel surface rather than adhering to it. The result is a cleaner panel surface for longer — reducing the frequency of manual cleaning required and lowering the soiling-related generation loss between service visits.
40–60%
Reduction in cleaning frequency
Panels treated with ADS require significantly fewer cleaning cycles to maintain the same average cleanliness level.
Self-cleaning
Rain-assisted cleaning effect
The hydrophobic surface allows rainwater to carry away loose dust and particulates, providing a passive cleaning effect.
2–3 years
Treatment durability
A single ADS application provides effective hydrophobic protection for 2 to 3 years under normal environmental conditions.
Non-abrasive
Safe for all module types
ADS is a chemical surface treatment — not a physical coating — and is safe for all standard solar module glass types.
How It Works
- 01
Deep Clean First
Before ADS application, the module surface is deep-cleaned to remove all dust, soiling and residue. ADS is applied only to a clean surface.
- 02
Surface Preparation
The module glass is prepared to ensure the nano-coating bonds correctly to the surface and achieves uniform coverage.
- 03
ADS Application
The Anti-Dust Shield treatment is applied by trained PlasmaBerry technicians using controlled application equipment.
- 04
Curing & Inspection
The treatment is allowed to cure and the surface is inspected for uniform coverage before the visit is closed.
- 05
Helios™ Documentation
The ADS application is logged in Helios™ with date, technician and module coverage details for your service record.
Best Suited For
High-Dust Environments
Plants near construction sites, industrial zones, highways or arid regions where dust accumulation is rapid.
Difficult-Access Installations
Rooftop plants where cleaning access is challenging or costly — ADS reduces the frequency of access required.
Large Ground-Mount Plants
Utility-scale plants where the cost of frequent manual cleaning across a large panel count is significant.
AMC Customers
ADS is available as an add-on to PlasmaBerry AMC programs, providing enhanced protection between scheduled service visits.
